SIAL Paris 2024, an anniversary edition
We are delighted to announce that SprintProject is a partner of SIAL Paris 2024. For 60 years, SIAL Paris has been providing strategic insight to help food industry leaders make the right decisions. This year, 7,500 exhibitors from 205 countries and more than 285,000 professionals are expected to attend the event from 19th to 23rd October 2024. Innovation will be more than ever at the epicentre of the event, and SprintProject was honoured to provide its expertise to the SIAL Paris's team.
Highlights of SIAL Paris 2024
SIAL Startup: the showcase for tomorrow’s innovations
This year, SIAL startup, the area dedicated to young companies, will be expanded and will welcome more than 100 innovative startups. This area will highlight the latest innovative solutions and the changes to come in the food industry.
Each day, international startups will have the opportunity to present their solutions during themed 3-minute pitch sessions. We invite you to discover these innovations and continue the discussions directly on their booths. The pitch sessions will start at 11.30am on Saturday and 10am on the following days.
Exclusive conference on Open Innovation
Don't miss our conference on Saturday, October 19, from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. in Hall 5A. We will present the results of our study on Open Innovation in the agri-food sector: "Collaborating to innovate: The future of food industry transformation", carried out for SIAL Paris 2024. This study, conducted by Sprint expertsProject, offers a global vision of the development of open innovation in the agri-food sector. Based on qualitative and quantitative data, as well as in-depth monitoring and analysis work, it aims to inform professionals in the sector on the integration of this methodology to strengthen their capacity to innovate.
This session will be featuring Fabio Mora, SVP Open Innovation at Ferrero, Audrey Ashworth, Director of SIAL Paris and François Deprey, Managing Partner of SprintProject.
Food Supply Chain Summit: discussions and prospects
On Tuesday 22nd October, from 10.30am to 1.30pm, join us in Hall 5A for the Food Supply Chain Summit. This exclusive program will bring together industry leaders to discuss the major challenges of the food supply chain around 3 roundtables.
Round table 1 : ‘Redefining food supply chain: a prerequisite for feeding 10 billion individuals by 2060!’ This round table examines securing supply chains in the face of global conflict and climate change, encouraging resilience in the agri-food industry, and integrating new models into the current political context.
Roberta Ré, Food and Drink Investment Specialist at the UK Department of Business and Trade, will lead this discussion and will be joined by:
- Sébastien Abis, CEO of the Demeter Club
- Dirk Jacobs, Managing Director of FoodDrink Europe
- Stéphane Layani, Chairman and CEO of the Rungis International Market
Round table 2 : ‘Agri-food: building a decarbonized global supply chain’. This panel discussion highlights logistics innovations focused on reducing emissions, including direct-to-consumer and alternative solutions such as fluvial and rail transport.
François Deprey, Managing Partner at SprintProject, will host the discussion with:
- Pénélope Laigo, Group Sustainability & QHSE Director of FM Logistics
- Henri Harfouche, Supply Chain Director of Mars
- Bertrand Bompas, CSR Director of the STEF group
- Mathieu Boyer, Head of Market Intelligence at Sprint Project
Round table 3 : “Data in the Food Supply Chain”. During this exchange, the experts will review the challenges of obtaining data from such a complex ecosystem (from farm to fork) with the great ambition of informing consumers and influencing their daily choices. They will also share concrete use cases and initiatives to see how new technologies help support this challenge.
It will be chaired by François Deprey, Managing Partner at SprintProject, who will give the floor to two pairs who will jointly present their collaborations on Open Innovation projects:
- Maxine Roper, Co-founder of Connecting Food and Jean-Charles Gander, Chief Quality Officer of Migros
