“With Delivery Academy, we train the delivery people of tomorrow”

Urban delivery in need of…trained delivery people

Augustin Doumbe is the co-founder and President of the company Delivery Academy, whose ambition is to improve the performance of carriers by having a direct impact on their delivery people.

Augustin Doumbe met his future partner Anne-Gabrielle Verdier in his former life as an entrepreneur, running You Order, and the foundations of Delivery Academy were laid. Augustin Doumbe explains: “Our meeting is causal, our first exchanges start from a client/service provider disagreement.” The cause: delivery people deemed unsuitable to represent the client brand. Ultimately, it was on common values focused on sharing, customer service and the social mission of a company that the two professionals decided to set up together the project of an academy dedicated to the training of delivery people.

The aim is to enable last-mile transport operators to improve their performance by enhancing the skills of their salaried drivers.

The best urban transport operators offer low positive margins, if not negative ones for the vast majority. In order to perpetuate their adventure, it is vital to have a direct impact on costs that are still underestimated and that weigh heavily on the profit and loss account (staff turnover, recruitment, breakages, etc.). To do this, it is vital to increase the skills of the resources that are directly linked to them...the delivery drivers...", explains Augustin DOUMBE

Delivery Academy, training the delivery people of tomorrow

Indeed, if there is one topic that is still untapped, it is that of training delivery people in urban areas. A huge project that Delivery Academy wants to tackle.

According to various market figures, there are nearly 400,000 salaried delivery workers. According to Augustin: “There are several hundred thousand delivery people with whom we must work in order to promote their profession, increase their skills and above all build loyalty. Not to mention the thousands of young people who come to discover this profession, often out of life's obligation rather than through the attraction of the sector. We have here an important breeding ground which could revitalize the economy and give a boost toenergy for urban delivery. As long as you offer suitable training! »

Delivery Academy wishes, through its training, to change the image of the delivery person and improve the longevity of the delivery person in the company. : "We want to provide solutions to the current situation, improve the'existing by training the efficient delivery drivers of tomorrow in order to offer an innovative customer experience for consumers, cost optimization for carriers and promotion of the profession for the general public "

Augustin Doumbe tells us that this year's goal is to train between 600 and 800 delivery people.

By offering tools to increase skills, Delivery Academy allows an increase in the employability of a population without training and access to stable jobs. A great CSR initiative accessible to businesses!

A great adventure to follow!
