As companies seek to reduce their carbon footprint while complying with new energy regulations, some are turning to Open Innovation and increase collaborations with innovative startups. With this in mind, SprintProject supports a group of clients, leaders in their sector, in a shared project to install a demonstrator with the startup Wind My Roof, specializing in energy production via rooftop wind turbines.
Context and Challenges of the Energy Transition
Regulatory developments are pushing many companies to seek alternatives for green and autonomous electricity production. As such, the project led by SprintProject for its Supply Chain customers, aims to respond to several key challenges, including:
- Reducing carbon footprint : Adopt solutions to reduce the environmental impact of logistics warehouses.
- Search for backup solutions : Finding viable and efficient complementary solutions to solar panels to guarantee renewable and reliable energy production.
SprintProject's support in this innovative and collaborative project
SprintProject plays a central role in this project by offering in-depth expertise and tailor-made support to its clients. Here are the key stages of our intervention:
- Available solutions analysis : Specialist in international monitoring, SprintProject has carried out the identification and evaluation of the maturity of solutions on the market, including that proposed by Wind My Roof.
- Supply Chain stakeholders mobilization : Our teams were able to involve several Supply Chain players in a shared project, in order to optimize resources, skills and risks.
- Framing the experiment : SprintProject then carried out the Project Management. A true cornerstone, our team carried out the framing of the experiment and the general monitoring of this complex multi-party project.
- Goals validation (expected gains, costs, deliverables).
- Monitoring of the general project schedule (PMO).
Rooftop Wind Turbine Project Details
The project involves the installation of several rooftop wind turbines (WindBox) on a target warehouse. The objectives expected by the stakeholders concern the validation of hypotheses concerning the electricity produced, the environmental impact, the technical specifications of the installation and the viability of the economic model. The results of this experiment should not only allow the production of green and autonomous energy but also demonstrate the efficiency of rooftop wind turbines in a logistics environment.
Open Innovation to Integrate Energy Innovation
SprintProject clients have focused on Open Innovation and collaboration with an innovative startup to experiment with an energy-related innovation. This project shows that the energy theme is not only important, but also a priority for companies looking to integrate innovative and sustainable solutions within businesses.
