Interview with Stéphane Jakubyszin, co-founder of the Pangée company. A company created to digitalize and democratize leasing.
Who was your mentor?
We had the chance to be mentored by Stéphane Aisenberg from the company Link by net. He is a very interesting person, particularly because of his economic development because he is an entrepreneur who started from the beginning until reaching 50 million euros in turnover. We want to follow his example, especially since he experienced all the stages we face today. Stéphane was therefore able to advise us on both the stages and the pitfalls to avoid throughout the journey. He also made available to us all the partners he found and selected during his journey, this was enormous added value for us. This allowed us to move faster and, above all, to avoid many pitfalls.
How did the meetings with the mentor go?
The meetings with the mentor were exactly what we were looking for: a step back with someone who had a success and went through the stages that we experienced. So a person who has perspective on his own activity and who supports us without having ulterior motives.
What do you think is the most important quality of mentoring?
There are several fundamental aspects: The quality of the mentors selected and the ability to link two personalities which is a very important aspect in order to have the ability to exchange and move forward together. Furthermore, there are the rules set by the program which guarantee that there is no crossed interest, no conflict of interest, between mentor and mentee. In our case, Link by Net does not do leasing otherwise it would be too easy to take the ideas of the mentee company and apply them to yourself. So there is really no connection between the two companies. On the other hand, there are always points in common between companies, such as questions of human resources, growth or fundraising... Its common themes can be found in a leasing company but also in a company that does licensing contracts. SAS. So ultimately, two completely different companies find the same problems.
Where are you now ?
At the start of the mentoring, a year ago, there were four of us. Today we are 12 people with still strong growth and strong development.
