Faced with the context of the health crisis, the Supply Chain has demonstrated that it is more than ever at the heart of the fight.
In this context, Movin'On and Aslog, which work on sustainable mobility solutions for goods through the SupplyChain4Good community, could not remain inactive. This is why part of the community organized the linking of available logistical capacities and the needs of the actors who were on the front line (hospitals, food distribution and basic necessities, etc.) in order to provide rapid and effective solutions.
In a few weeks, this solidarity system made it possible to centralize, via a dedicated email, urgent Supply Chain needs as well as available capacities, then to connect the right players, thanks to the work of a project team.
In particular, as part of the SupplyChain4Good initiative, Fabien Esnoult, Member of the ASLOG Board of Directors, coordinator of the SupplyChain4Good project and President of SprintProject, ensured contact with Ahmed Chaieb, Founder of Box2Home, the solution Express delivery, assembly and installation of bulky products.
Following this connection, Box2Home recovered between the 1er and the 6th of April, 2020, from the companies Alchemins (Dieuze) and PIM Industrie (Marckolsheim) and at the height of the health crisis, more than 1,650 protective visors and made their deliveries to the IHU in Strasbourg. A detour to a private home was also organized, in order to collect a donation of valve connectors, intended for respirators, manufactured with his personal 3D printer.
A great solidarity initiative which demonstrates that the Supply Chain adapts to the needs of the ecosystem (national, regional, local) in which it is located, thanks to united players.
#SupplyChain4Good
The #SupplyChain4Good community was created at the initiative of Michelin and Aslog, as part of the Movin'On ecosystem, in favor of more sustainable mobility of goods. #SupplyChain4Good aims to bring together players who work for Supply Chains that are simultaneously good for the planet, people and business performance. The members of this community are “shippers” (industrial and commercial companies), “operators” (transporters, logisticians, shipping companies, ports, etc.), “support functions” (academicians, consultants, information systems, regulators, NGO…). They cover all economic sectors and all regions of the world. Their work takes place throughout the year and culminates in the annual Movin'On Summit, the world summit for sustainable mobility.
